Process for Passage
Registration
Eligibility
* Must be a student of university affiliated to the AIMS network which has an agreement with IU.
* Must be fulltime student (minimum Yr.2) at time of application.
* Must pass screening procedures of your university and recommended by Dean of Faculty.
* Must be proficient in English communication and TOEFL score of 500 or equivalent.
* Must be a registered student at your home institution until the end of AIMS-IU program.
Application
If you are approved to join us by your home university, please send ALL soft copies of following documents by email (revise "_at_" to "@"). The dead line will be the end of April.
- Completed Application Form in Word format
- High-Resolution ID Photo
- Applicant's Passport (the page including your face and passport number)
- Score of TOEFL, IELTS or other equivalent English examination tests (If you submit TOEFL-like test score, please attach the comparability statement)
- Certificate of Health in free format (example)
- Certificate of Scholarship (or letter of financial support)
- Letter of Recommendation from your home university
- Legal Copy of Academic Records Transcript
* We may ask you to send some documents (5, 6, 7, 8) to us by EMS.
Procedures to get your VISA
Prepare following documents (April-May)
1. Prepare by yourself and send electronic file to IU staff:Application for the certificate of eligibility (CoE). [updated form will be supplied from the webpages of Ministry of Justice (in Japanese)] *IU staff will acquire the official signature from senior official.
2. IU staff will prepare:Documents submitted as application package, your LoA from Ibaraki university, and a return addressed envelope (with the address of Ibaraki university written on the front and stamps for registered letter).
Application of CoE (May-June)
IU staff will submit above documents to the Tokyo regional immigration bureau (or Mito branch office). One to three months later, the CoE will be issued and be sent to IU. Then, IU staff will send the CoE, LoA of IU to the contact person of your university in Indonesia.
Acquiring your VISA in Indonesia (August)
You need to apply for student visa at the embassy of Japan in Indonesia with some documents mentioned above (sent by Ibaraki university) and other documents prepared by applicant. This procedure takes approximately 4 business days and 3,250,000 Rp. as of September, 2012. You can check further information for visa application in webpages of the embassy of Japan.
